Whitney Houston's Last Performance

Whitney Houston's Last Performance

WHITNEY HOUSTON'S final performance wasn't really a performance, per se.  On Thursday night, Whitney hit up a Grammy party thrown by Gospel singer KELLY PRICE.  And Whitney jumped onstage with her to sing a little bit of "Jesus Loves Me"

(Check out video here.)

Whitney's voice was about as good as it's been the last few years . . . which means not too good.  And the rest of the night reportedly didn't go well, either.

RadarOnline.com says Whitney was there with her "supposed" boyfriend RAY J and she was drinking lots of tequila.

Ray J  talking to 42-year-old "X Factor" contestant STACY FRANCIS, and Whitney  overreacted. "She ran over to them and began screaming, 'This is my man!  I'm a cougar!

Kelly Price actually had to help calm Whitney down.

WHITEY HOUSTON BY THE NUMBERS:

In 2009, the Guinness World Records cited her as the most-awarded female act of all time.

Her awards include two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards in her lifetime. Houston was also one of the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide.[

Houston is the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits ("Saving All My Love for You", "How Will I Know", "Greatest Love of All", "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)", "Didn't We Almost Have It All", "So Emotional" and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go").

She is the second artist behind Elton John and the only female artist to have two number-one Billboard 200 Album awards (formerly "Top Pop Album") on the Billboard magazine year-end charts.

What we Know:

Whitney was found dead in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday afternoon.  She was only 48 years old.  The cause of death hasn't been determined yet.

An autopsy was performed yesterday, the results of toxicology tests won't be available for several weeks.  Even the preliminary results are being kept under wraps.

TMZ reports that Whitney was discovered in the bathtub with her face underwater and her legs up, as if she had slid down while sitting back in the tub.

A stylist, a hairdresser and two bodyguards were in Whitney's room at the time.  They started becoming suspicious when they realized Whitney had been in the bathroom for over an hour.

There's early speculation that Whitney overly-sedated herself by mixing Alcohol with Xanax and drowned.  Sources say Whitney was drinking pretty heavily on Friday, the night BEFORE her death.

Sources also claim that police found the sedatives Lorazepam, Valium and some kind of sleep medication in Whitney's room.  Sources say Beverly Hills police found several prescription pill bottles in Whitney's hotel room.  But there was no evidence of illegal drugs.

Sources say that Whitney's mom, singer CISSY HOUSTON, spoke with Whitney on the phone just a half an hour before her death, and didn't think anything was wrong.  Her cousin DIONNE WARWICK also spoke with her that day.

Her music is selling:

As of last night, Whitney's "Greatest Hits" album was the top seller on both iTunes and Amazon .

The official sales week ends on Sunday . . . and there are estimates that the album may have sold around 50,000 copies from the time of Whitney's death.   Meanwhile, Whitney's single "I Will Always Love You" hit #1 on iTunes . . . and 41 of her songs were among the top 200 sellers on iTunes last night.
