TAMPA, Fla., (970 WFLA) - The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the person who drove the wrong way on I-275, killing four people and himself this past weekend as 28-year-old Daniel Lee Morris.
Investigators say Morris had recently moved to Tampa from Michigan and had been living with a friend in Tampa. The car involved was the friend's car.
Early Sunday morning, investigators say Morris drove southbound in the northbound lanes of I-275 just north of Busch Boulevard, crashing into an oncoming car. All four USF students in that oncoming car were killed.
FHP investigators still don't know why Morris was driving in the wrong lanes or exactly where he entered those northbound lanes.
