TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Stormy weather impacted much of the Bay area Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch early Saturday morning effective until 5 pm for 11 counties - Citrus, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Levy, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Sumter. At 2:30pm, the watch was cancelled for Citrus, Hernando, Levy, and Sumter counties. Just before 4pm, it was cancelled for Hillsborough.
The grandstands at the St. Petersburg Grand Prix had to be evacuated due to the severe weather.
The rain and thunder also impacted roads in HernandoCounty. Deputies have put out a list of roads that are impassible. CLICK HERE to see the list.
A small craft advisory is also in effect from 10pm Saturday until 10am Sunday.
