BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (970 WFLA) -- Two students in Hernando County have confirmed cases of MRSA, which is a bacterial skin infection.

970 WFLA obtained a copy of the letter from the the school district that was sent home to alert parents with students at Hernando High.

In the letter, health department officials said MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is spread by having direct contact with an infected person, sharing personal items like razors and towels, and touching contaminated surfaces such as bandages.
