TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Tampa police have a man is jail and say he killed his dog, then cooked it.
Officers say they received a call from a relative that 25-year-old Elliot Huggins strangled the 5-to-6 month-old family dog, then cut up the canine into quarters and stored it in the freezer for future meals.
Officers found the dog's ribs cooked in a pot on the stove at Huggin's apartment on Aster Avenue, North. They say the dog's head was in the garbage.
Huggins is charged with animal cruelty. Animal control took possession of the dog's remains.
