TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Clean up operations continue in the Port of Tampa after 14 rail cars containing ethanol derailed near the port entrance.
Tampa Fire-Rescue covered the cars with foam to reduce the fire danger. Captain Lonnie Bennefield says none of the spilled ethanol has gone into the Bay.
CSX Railroad has sent off to Atlanta for some heavy equipment that will help workers lift the derailed cars back onto the tracks. Best guess is it could take up to 24 hours to get things back to normal.
The Tampa Port Authority says the port has reopened to all commercial traffic, but delays are to be expected.
