Election Dates Set To Replace Bill Young.

Tallahassee, Fl. (970 WFLA) - Governor Rick Scott Thursday has called for Tuesday, January 14th to be a special primary election day with Tuesday, March 11th set as the general election date to pick a successor to Pinellas County Republican Congressman Bill Young.

Young died last week at the age of 82. He was the longest serving member of Congress, having first been elected to office in 1973.

Young represented District 13 in Pinellas County.

Former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, a Democrat, has announced that she will move from Hillsborough to Pinellas and seek this seat.

Jessica Ehrlich, who lost to Young last go around, has also announced her candidacy.
