Church Choir Director Arrested for Capital Sexual Battery

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (970 WFLA) -- A Hillsborough County church choir director is under arrest and charged with capital sexual battery.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 47-year-old William A. Richardson.

They said he committed the crimes against a girl over a three year period, when the victim was between nine and 11 years old.

They also said these occurred during Sunday school at the First Baptist Church of Mango on East MLK.

Richardson is identified as the choir director and a youth ministries assistant.

Right now, the Sheriff's Office says there appears to be only one victim, but they're asking the public to call in with more information at 813-247-8200.
