Robin Thicke is taking on a new acting gig.
According to "The "Hollywood Reporter," the "Blurred Lines" singer is getting behind the camera again for an upcoming short film called Mercy, which he also wrote and directed.
Thicke is starring opposite his wife Paula Patton. He plays a family-man and limo driver dealing with the drug and alcohol addictions of his troubled wife.
Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg plays their daughter, a talented musician.
Mercy, which is based on true events, was shot in Los Angeles earlier this year. Thicke's experience in the world of film and television includes the ABC singing show "Duets" and BET's "Real Husbands of Hollywood." He's also set to star in an upcoming indie flick called Abby in the Summer opposite Jaime Pressly.
His North American tour supporting Blurred Lines begins in February.
