LeAnn Rimes is calling her new album "an intimate conversation" with her fans. The country star explains that with Spitfire she's sharing her personal journey through her music, and admits it's taken her "a lot of work to get to this point."
She says the material covers a range of emotions she's experienced over her lifetime, "from anger to love, from frustrations to letting go."
Rimes adds that it's still easier for her to sing these thoughts than it is to say them out loud, and she hopes she's conveying thoughts that are hard for others to express as well.
Spitfire also includes a few special guests. Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminsky contribute background vocals to the song "What Have I Done?," while Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas and guitar great Jeff Beck are featured on "Gasoline & Matches."
Spitfire, which also features the single "Borrowed," will be released as a physical CD exclusively through Walmart on June 4th.
