Billboard.com says Jones' sales surged in the three days after he died, increasing a total of 1,002% from the previous week. His best-of sets have seen the biggest sales increases. The 1998 collection "16 Biggest Hits" logged sales of nine-thousand - up 441% from the previous week - and is debuting at number 42 on the Billboard 200. That's also Jones' highest placement on the all genre list.
Meanwhile, Jones downloads were up by 2,739%. His total digital sales of 149,000 last week more than doubled his cumulative sales for 2013. Jones' signature song, "He Stopped Loving Her Today," was the biggest seller.
It's entering the Country Digital Songs chart at number 15 with sales of 34,000 - up from 1,000 a week earlier.
"Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" was also a popular download with 11,000 in sales, which Billboard.com says is "up from basically nothing" the previous week.
